What's included

The experience is designed for anyone seeking ‘differences’ training as part of type conversion, or can be used by pilots who require refresher experience, or an instructor flight for revalidation purposes. Mostly, the experience will be provided for pilots converting from simple SEP aeroplanes with fixed pitch propellers to SEP aeroplanes with VP propellers.

Course content: Areas covered include: The role of engine systems and the propeller on aircraft performance in all phases of flight. The Principles of operation of the Variable Pitch (VP) propeller, its construction & function. Recognising problems and emergency handling during different phases of flight:.

Propeller systems, engine and instrumentation limitations are included, but are not used as a replacement for specific aircraft type training, but detailed reference is made throughout the course to the appropriate Aircraft Flight Manual.

What's included: 3 hours flight training (over 1 day or 2 half days) on a PA28 (arrow or similar) high performance fully IFR equipped aircraft, plus 3 hours ground school, and all training notes and materials. Satisfactory completion of the 'Differences Training' is recorded in the pilot’s logbook, and countersigned by the instructor/flight school. The certification includes details of the features covered, and the type or class within which the training was carried out.

Voucher

Each voucher entitles one person to participate in this experience. The voucher is transferable, which means that anyone can use it. The voucher remains valid for bookings for 9 months from the date of purchase. Please contact the operator using the details printed on your voucher to arrange a date for your event.

Special Conditions

No special conditions apply, but pilots are normally expected to be in current flying practice for single engine aircraft before commencement of the experience. The location for this event is: Usk Valley Aviation Meet, Nr Newport, Gwent, South Wales.
